No matter where I may be one things for sure! I'm on North Cackalacky Patrol Time. Whether patrolling as a Police Officer in Gaston County N.C. or on hunting patrol, things are always on the go! Yeah its fun catching bad guys but nothing makes my heart do a drum roll like a monster buck or a gobbling turkey! Growing up in Gastonia , N.C. just 20 miles away from downtown Charlotte, has allowed me to develop some wonderful passions! First and foremost Im so blessed to have experienced the greatest gift a man could ever receive! This gift, which is salvation through Jesus Christ, ultimately makes me a happy man. I can tell you first hand He's a friend that sticks closer than a brother & he'll never let you down! I'm thankful to all my family, friends and The Dallas Church of God for instilling the greatest passion in me. This passion goes hand-in-hand with God's great outdoors and my passion to experience it! When on Cackalacky Hunting Patrol, as I like to call it, God's creation can be seen 360 degrees. I spent most of my hunting time as a young teenager being lead around the fall deer woods of York County, S.C. by my dad. Now as a grown up kid, the story comes to full circle as the still youthful old man now follows the kid. From N.C. to W.Y. to N.Y to F.L. to Saskatchewan, CANADA and many points in between, we're so blessed to share these moments with each other and so many great friends we know and meet along the way. Get ready because these experiences and passions wrapped up in one are the core of Appalachian Outdoors Television and I can't wait to share it with you!
ROMANS 6:33 BUT SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED UNTO YOU.

Growing up in a small town in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, being outdoors was my way of life. I have hunted and fished in almost every situation there is, for some of the most pursued game animals out there in America. From hunting the south at an early age to Northern Virginia to the Rocky Mountain States, just being outdoors has been a great experience for me and I want to share those experiences with my two daughters. I think raising my kids this way will lead them to be better in life and gives them something positive to be involved in. I want them to be all they can be and most of all to be little outdoors girls that grow to be great outdoors women. I have to admit keeping them involved with the things I like to do can get hard sometimes but when I share time, just getting out of the house with them means everything to them and me. I thank God for those little girls. Now on to my wonder (wonder where he’s hunting now) wife who supports me in all my activities, I want to take this time to thank her for understanding. All in all, God has blessed my life and given me a great family to enjoy my outdoor adventures with. You too should thank God for want he has given you in life. Remember, take a kid into the outdoors and let them explore it. I know they will enjoy it as much as you do.

I have been blessed most of my life with the opportunity to hunt and fish. It is an
opportunity that I am thankful to God for. I have been able to see, hear and observe
the Creator and his beautiful creation. I enjoy hunting all game, but my passions are
waterfowl and turkeys. What a blessing it is to be able to work ducks into a decoy
spread or a tom to a decoy. Being on the water to drop a hook and enjoy a day of
fishing is also a blessing. I have had many mentors over the years that have passed
down tips and have shown me ways to improve my abilities. I also believe in
conservation and being a good steward of the land and wildlife. I strive to leave this
world a better place for the next generation and to keep the heritage of the outdoors

alive. I thank God for the abilities he has given me and for the blessings of family,
friends, freedom and sharing in his creation and kingdom.
Hey, I'm Nick Heflin from Haymarket, VA. I currently work for my our family construction business, heading the landscape and excavating division. Just like the majority of you out there, I love the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and spending every chance outdoors is what it's all about, and now I'm putting my passion to work as well. I'm the youngest member of the pro-staff, so it's my job to keep all the old guys on the crew in check. I'm also currently one of the main editors here at Appalachian Outdoors Television, so send me some feedback about what you do and don't like, or what you would like to see more or less of on our show. Whether it be bow-hunting for big whitetails, calling big gobblers, or catching huge bass, you'll find me right here on Appalachian Outdoors Television, making it happen. To get in touch with me, send an e-mail to nick.heflin@appalachianoutdoors-tv.com.
Growing up in the Northern Virginia area and having a Father who is an avid outdoorsman, I've had the privilege of enjoying the outdoors in this area. Being taught at an early age to enjoy, respect, and treasure nature and everything it has to offer, I can now pass these gifts on to my daughter. My life has always revolved around the outdoors, in high school I worked at Cockrills Taxidermy, and then at a gun and archery shop. Wanting to experience something new I went out to Montana where I was a licensed guide for Elk, Mule deer, and Antelope. I then started booking hunts to Canada for Bear where I experienced a whole new respect for nature. I hope this show can reach out to our viewers and inspire them to get outdoors and experience what we are so blessed to have in our lives.
The West Texas desert is my favorite place to be. The awe-inspiring sunsets, plentiful game and mild climate in the winter are just a few of the reasons. Hunting the pine thickets of the south that most of us know all too well, can be rather tight. A fifty foot shooting lane is all the opportunity that you will have. The western skies are huge and it isn’t uncommon to see your game a mile or two away. You can also breathe better there. It seems like there is more air and less things to take up space. The outdoor pursuits of fish and game and my two baby boys have given me the greatest memories any person alive could ever want. I thank God for all of those experiences and the Appalachian Outdoors Television team wants to share them with you. We have loads of experience and I have been fortunate enough to have hunted as far north as The Great Slave Lake in Canada all the way south to the Rio Grande. My favorite game is Pronghorn, but I cut my teeth on South Carolina deer. I have harvested twenty species of big game animals and always come back home to those little whitetails. My focus in life has shifted to introducing and raising my two little ones in the great outdoors. I have sparked an interest in them and that is what all hunting dads want. Come with us on our quests for the experiences and memories on Appalachian Outdoors Television.

I love the WEST! I've lived my entire life in the majestic mountains of Colorado and wouldn't want it any other way. I was lucky enough to grow up in a home that signified the outdoor lifestyle in it's entirety. If I wasn't calling Merriam turkeys in the spring with my Dad, I was catching trout and bass in the seemingly endless Colorado rivers and lakes. Big game is my passion and chasing the Elk and GIANT Mule deer my home state is famous for keeps my spirits and anticipation high year round.
I love the outdoors because it offers me an opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy all the beautiful creations I've been undeservingly blessed to inherit. But when hunting season finally arrives and I have a tag in my pocket it's all business for me. Opening day is a day I wait for all year and I am determined to do everything in my power to put meat in the freezer and antlers on the wall!
I've had the opportunity to hunt from the Alaskan tundra North of the Arctic Circle to the brush country of South Texas and everything in between. I love the outdoors and everything this proud heritage has added to my life. I'm grateful for my beautiful, understanding Wife and my two unbelievable children who remind me everyday what life is truly about. I look forward to sharing more outdoor adventures with all of you in the future and hope to see you in the field.
